Friday the 13th:
The movie starts out in 1980 with Pamela Voorhees chasing the final surviving victim of the original Friday the 13th killings. She blames the counselors for Jason’s death and is about to stab the last girl when the girl picks up a machete and cuts off Mrs. Voorhees’ head before running away. Meanwhile, a young Jason is watching from above in a tree and jumps down to retrieve his mother’s body and the machete. It skips ahead to present day where Whitney, her boyfriend Mike, Amanda, her boyfriend Richie, and Wade are hiking through the woods of Crystal Lake in search of weed growing somewhere. They set up camp for the night and Wade tells them the story of Jason and Crystal Lake, which no one believes. Whitney and Mike take a walk, while Amanda and Richie have sex, leaving Wade to wander by himself where he stumbles upon the weed and Jason, who quickly kills him. Amanda and Richie hear someone in the woods, so Richie leaves to check it out, leaving Jason to grab Amanda in her sleeping bag and tie her up above the campfire, leaving her to burn inside. Richie tries to run to help her, but gets his leg caught in a bear trap. Meanwhile Whitney and Mike are exploring a run down house in Camp Crystal Lake. They find Mrs. Voorhees’ necklace with a picture of herself in it, leading Mike to comment on the resemblance between her and Whitney. In another room they find Mrs. Voorhees severed head. Jason begins attacking them, stabbing through the floors and cutting up Mike before pulling him through the floor completely. Whitney runs to find Amanda dead and goes to help Richie before Jason appears behind her, slicing his machete through Richie’s face. Jason runs towards Whitney about to slice her and the scene ends.

The Children:
The film begins with a family of five, mother Elaine (Eva Birthistle), father Jonah (Stephen Campbell Moore), teenage daughter Casey (Hannah Tointon), and the two younger children Miranda (Eva Sayer) and Paulie (William Howes) heading up to a large house to spend New Year with some relatives. When they arrive, they are greeted by Elaine’s sister Chloe (Rachel Shelley), her husband Robbie (Jeremy Sheffield), and their two children; Leah (Raffiella Brooks) and Nicky (Jake Hathaway).Paulie, who has been feeling unwell for the journey is sick outside the house, so Elaine sees to him. While she looks after him, she tells Casey to carry the bags into the house and Casey asks her if she has heard of contraception. Inside, the children are enjoying themselves, except for Casey, who is annoyed that she didn’t get to go to her friend’s party. Chloe then gets annoyed because Nicky is playing with a toy gun that Casey got him for Christmas. She then continues moaning about her mother, who called at 11pm wanting to speak to the children, and tells them that she hasn’t invited her mother over for New Year. Paulie climbs up on to the table, calling for Elaine, and when Jonah picks him up, he hits him in the face.

The Invasion:
An alien lifeform, much like a fungus or spore, clings to the space shuttle Patriot as it crashes back to Earth, spreading tainted debris from Texas to Washington, D.C. Curious onlookers steal, touch and even sell the parts on eBay, much like what happened with the Columbia disaster. This in turn infects many people, robbing them of their emotions when they enter REM sleep. One of the first people infected is Tucker (Jeremy Northam), a CDC director investigating the crash. Once he is overcome, Tucker uses the CDC to spread the disease further, disguising the spores as flu inoculations. In a panic from a made-up “flu bug,” people rush to get “inoculated,” later becoming pod people when they sleep that night.
