Later on, the institution's progress and contribution in the field of technical education for over two decades made the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Govt. of India to grant Deemed University status on 16 July 2001 and University status on 13 September 2006 under section(3) of the UGC Act, 1956.

BITSAT 2010: Hall Tickets Available

BITS Pilani Online tests will be held on 10th May to 10th June 2010. For BITSAT, candidates can download the Hall tickets from 10.4.2010 – 30.4.2010.  The last date for BITSAT 2010 application form was 30th Jan 2010.
BITSAT is a Computer Based Online Test carried out by Birla Institute of Technology and Science for Admission to Integrated First Degree programmes of BITS, Pilani. BITS (Birla Institute of Technology and Science), Pilani is an all India Institution declared as Deemed to be University.
BITS’ Admissions to all the Integrated First Degree programmes will be based on Online Test conducted by BITS, Pilani.

Dish Places TV Everywhere With SlingLoaded DVR

Dish Network subscribers will soon be able to watch their TV anywhere through PCs and mobile phones, as the satellite TV provider is finally making Sling-enabled DVRs available to its customers, about a year after they were expected to ship. Dish will sell the ViP922 SlingLoaded DVR at a suggested retail price of $699, with leasing options also available to its customers.

The release of the Sling-enabled DVR has been a long time coming: the set-top box was first announced more than a year ago at CES. And its availability comes two and a half years after Echostar bought Sling Media for $380 million.

The SlingLoaded DVR is key to Dish Network’s TV Everywhere strategy, which will enable Dish customers to watch live and recorded TV that they’ve already paid for from PCs and mobile devices such as the iPhone and Blackberrys.

Unlike Comcast, Time Warner Cable and other cable companies, which are pitching TV Everywhere services through on demand video portals that require authentication, Dish’s approach cuts out the need for service providers and TV programmers to create separate web sites for subscribers to view content. Furthermore, Sling-enabled DVRs will make all linear and recorded video content available to a subscriber on external devices, not just an on-demand library of content that is chosen by cable programmers and dependent on licensing agreements they have with rights holders.

Dish will begin taking orders for the ViP922 SlingLoaded DVR this week. In addition to the $699 initial price point, Dish subscribers will be charged a $1

UGC is going to announce result of NET (National Eligibility Test) today and it will available on official website of UGC. Users can check result when its available at http://www.ugc.ac.in/inside/netresults.html

Result will be available when it will be declared by UGC, you can get other results of previous exam by UGC at this page. UGC conduct NET 2 times a year. June exam result declared in October and December exam result declared in April every year.

Vinay Kumar: I stuck to my basics, bowled in right areas and it's good to win. Kallis, Kumble are all world class bowlers. This is a learning process for me. This is my home ground, I love to play here. I want to dedicate this award to my dad who celebrated his birthday a couple of days ago.
Vinay Kumar is the Man of the Match for taking 3 wickets.
Kumble: The bowlers did a fantastic job. Steyn, Kallis, Vinay, everyone bowled well. Uthappa batted really well with his left handed hits. The crowd was fantastic and it's good to get a win here.
Ganguly: We had a good start but failed to score towards the end. We are not bothered about the semi-final spot. We need to win to get there. Hopefully we can turn things around next time. We had to score about 185-190 but failed to get there.
Anil Kumble gets the Kamaal catch award. ( Kumble was very surprised to know that he won the Kamaal catch award)
Maximum sixes award goes to 'Robin Uthappa'
